Human and Animal Research Ethics Policy

The Journal of Integrated Scientific Research (JISR) is committed to promoting ethical, responsible, and transparent research involving human participants, animals, biological materials, and related research data.

Research Involving Human Participants

Research involving human participants must be conducted in accordance with applicable ethical principles, institutional requirements, and relevant national or international regulations.

Where required, authors must obtain approval from an appropriate Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC), Institutional Review Board (IRB), or equivalent ethics body before commencing the research.

Ethics Approval

Manuscripts reporting research involving human participants should provide relevant information regarding ethical approval, including the name of the approving ethics committee or institution and approval/reference number where applicable.

If ethical approval was not required for a particular study, authors may be asked to provide an appropriate explanation.

Informed Consent

Where applicable, informed consent must be obtained from research participants or their legally authorized representatives.

Authors should clearly state in the manuscript whether informed consent was obtained when relevant to the research.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Authors must protect the privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and personal information of research participants.

Identifiable information, photographs, case details, or other material that could reveal a participant's identity should not be published without appropriate consent or another valid ethical and legal basis.

Research Involving Vulnerable Participants

Research involving children, individuals with impaired decision-making capacity, or other vulnerable populations should incorporate appropriate additional ethical safeguards and comply with applicable requirements.

Research Involving Animals

Research involving animals must be conducted according to applicable institutional, national, and disciplinary standards for animal welfare and ethical research.

Where required, authors should obtain approval from an appropriate Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) or equivalent authority before conducting the study.

Animal Welfare

Authors should take reasonable measures to minimize unnecessary pain, distress, suffering, and harm to animals and should use scientifically and ethically appropriate research methods.

Biological Materials

Research involving human tissues, biological specimens, genetic materials, or other regulated biological resources must comply with applicable ethical, institutional, consent, access, and legal requirements.

Clinical Research

Where applicable, clinical studies should comply with relevant ethical and regulatory requirements. Authors should provide clinical trial registration information when registration is required.

Ethical Documentation

The editorial team may request ethics approval letters, informed-consent documentation, trial registration details, or other supporting information when necessary to evaluate ethical compliance.

Research Conducted Without Appropriate Approval

Where required ethical approval or consent has not been obtained, the journal may decline to consider the manuscript. Concerns identified after publication may be investigated and may result in appropriate editorial action.

Ethical Misconduct

Fabrication of ethical approval, falsification of consent information, inappropriate treatment of research participants or animals, or deliberate misrepresentation of ethical compliance will be treated as serious research-integrity concerns.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research complies with all ethical, institutional, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to their work.
