Research Data and Data Availability Policy

The Journal of Integrated Scientific Research (JISR) supports transparency, reproducibility, and responsible management of research data associated with published scholarly work.

Research Data

Research data may include datasets, experimental observations, survey data, laboratory measurements, computational outputs, images, code, supplementary materials, or other information used to support the findings reported in a manuscript.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and appropriate management of research data associated with their manuscripts. Research data must not be fabricated, falsified, selectively manipulated, or intentionally misrepresented.

Data Availability Statement

Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement describing whether the data supporting the findings of the study are publicly available, available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request, subject to restricted access, or unavailable for legitimate reasons.

Data Sharing

Authors are encouraged to make supporting research data available through recognized institutional, disciplinary, or general-purpose repositories when doing so is ethically, legally, and practically appropriate.

Restrictions on Data Sharing

The journal recognizes that some research data cannot be made publicly available because of participant confidentiality, privacy requirements, ethical restrictions, legal obligations, intellectual property considerations, contractual restrictions, or other legitimate reasons.

Where access is restricted, authors should explain the nature of the restriction in the Data Availability Statement where appropriate.

Human Participant Data

Research data involving human participants must be handled in accordance with applicable ethical requirements, informed consent arrangements, privacy protections, and relevant laws or institutional policies.

Data Citation

Where datasets or other research outputs are publicly available, authors are encouraged to cite them appropriately and provide persistent identifiers or repository links where available.

Data Retention

Authors should retain relevant research records and supporting data for an appropriate period in accordance with applicable institutional, disciplinary, ethical, funding, or legal requirements.

Editorial Requests

During peer review or investigation of a research-integrity concern, editors may request access to relevant supporting data or documentation when reasonably necessary to evaluate the manuscript or published work.

Failure to provide requested supporting information without a legitimate explanation may affect editorial consideration or result in further investigation.

Data Integrity Concerns

Suspected fabrication, falsification, inappropriate manipulation, or misrepresentation of research data will be considered a serious research-integrity concern and may result in appropriate editorial action.

JISR encourages responsible research-data practices while recognizing legitimate ethical, legal, privacy, and intellectual property limitations on data sharing.
