Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Journal of Integrated Scientific Research (JISR) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, transparency, and responsible scholarly communication. The journal expects editors, reviewers, authors, and all parties involved in the publication process to follow recognized principles of ethical scholarly publishing.

Editorial Responsibilities

Editors evaluate submitted manuscripts on the basis of academic merit, originality, relevance, methodological quality, and suitability for the scope of the journal. Editorial decisions shall not be influenced by the authors’ nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, religion, political beliefs, or other unrelated personal characteristics.

Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose information about a manuscript to unauthorized persons. Editors should also disclose and appropriately manage any actual or potential conflicts of interest.

Peer Review

JISR follows a peer-review process designed to support fair and objective evaluation of manuscripts. Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, evidence-based, and unbiased comments. Manuscripts and associated materials received for review must be treated as confidential documents.

Reviewers should decline a review when they lack appropriate expertise, cannot complete the review within the required period, or have a conflict of interest that may compromise their impartiality.

Author Responsibilities

Authors must submit original scholarly work and accurately present the methods, results, interpretations, and conclusions of their research. Authors must not fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or intentionally misrepresent research data.

All sources and contributions from other researchers must be appropriately acknowledged and cited. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts comply with applicable ethical, legal, institutional, and research requirements.

Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication

Plagiarism, including the unattributed use of another person's text, ideas, figures, data, or other intellectual contributions, is unacceptable. Manuscripts may be screened for similarity or plagiarism before or during the editorial process.

Authors must not submit substantially the same manuscript simultaneously to multiple journals. Duplicate, redundant, or overlapping publication without appropriate disclosure may result in rejection or other corrective action.

Authorship and Contributions

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made meaningful scholarly contributions to the work and who accept responsibility for the published article. Guest, honorary, and ghost authorship are not acceptable.

All authors should approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission. Any requested change in authorship after submission should be properly justified and may require written agreement from the affected authors.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing their work or decisions. Relevant conflicts of interest should be appropriately declared and managed.

Research Involving Humans or Animals

Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive biological materials must comply with applicable ethical and institutional requirements. Where required, authors should provide information regarding ethics committee or institutional review approval and informed consent.

Data Integrity and Availability

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data reported in their manuscripts. Fabrication, falsification, inappropriate manipulation, or deliberate omission of relevant data constitutes research misconduct.

Where appropriate and legally and ethically permissible, authors are encouraged to make supporting research data available or provide information regarding how such data may be accessed.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Authors should use artificial intelligence and AI-assisted technologies responsibly and transparently. AI tools should not be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility or accountability for scholarly work. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, integrity, and content of their manuscripts. Material use of generative AI in manuscript preparation should be disclosed where appropriate.

Corrections, Retractions and Editorial Actions

When significant errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, retraction, expression of concern, or other appropriate editorial notice depending on the circumstances. Published records should be corrected transparently when necessary.

Research Misconduct

Allegations involving plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, unethical research, inappropriate authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, or other forms of misconduct will be examined carefully. Authors may be asked to provide explanations, original data, ethical approvals, or other relevant documentation.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors, reviewers, readers, and other stakeholders may communicate legitimate complaints or appeals to the editorial office. Such matters will be considered objectively and confidentially. Appeals concerning editorial decisions should provide clear reasons and relevant supporting information.

Confidentiality

Editors and reviewers must protect confidential information obtained during manuscript submission and peer review. Unpublished information contained in a submitted manuscript must not be used for personal research or advantage without appropriate authorization.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly considerations and the journal’s editorial policies. Commercial considerations, publication charges, sponsorship, or other financial factors should not determine whether an individual manuscript is accepted or rejected.

Post-Publication Concerns

JISR encourages readers and researchers to report credible concerns regarding published material. Where a concern is substantiated, the journal will take appropriate corrective action while maintaining the integrity and transparency of the scholarly record.
