Plagiarism Policy
The Journal of Integrated Scientific Research (JISR) is committed to maintaining originality, academic integrity, and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. Authors are expected to submit original work and appropriately acknowledge all sources used in the preparation of their manuscripts.
Plagiarism Screening
Submitted manuscripts may be screened using appropriate similarity-detection software and may also undergo editorial assessment for potential plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate attribution, or other forms of academic misconduct.
Forms of Plagiarism
Plagiarism may include, but is not limited to:
• Copying text, ideas, data, figures, tables, or other material without appropriate acknowledgement.
• Presenting another person's work or ideas as one's own.
• Inadequate citation or attribution of previously published material.
• Excessive reproduction of previously published text without appropriate quotation, citation, or permission where required.
• Self-plagiarism or substantial reuse of an author's previously published material without appropriate disclosure and citation.
• Duplicate or redundant publication of substantially similar work without proper disclosure.
Similarity and Editorial Assessment
A similarity percentage alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred. Editors assess the nature, source, extent, and context of identified similarities before reaching an editorial decision.
JISR does not guarantee acceptance or rejection solely on the basis of a fixed similarity percentage. Manuscripts containing legitimate quotations, references, standard terminology, methodological descriptions, or properly attributed material may naturally show some similarity.
Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and that all sources are appropriately cited. Authors must obtain necessary permissions for copyrighted material where required and should accurately acknowledge the contributions of other researchers.
Action Before Publication
Where inappropriate similarity or plagiarism is identified before publication, the editorial team may request clarification or revision, reject the manuscript, or take other appropriate action depending on the seriousness of the concern.
Action After Publication
If credible evidence of plagiarism or substantial unattributed duplication is identified after publication, JISR may investigate the matter and, where appropriate, publish a correction, retraction, expression of concern, or other editorial notice.
Duplicate Submission
Authors should not submit the same or substantially similar manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. Any related manuscripts under consideration or previously published should be disclosed where relevant.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Authors remain responsible for the originality, accuracy, citations, and integrity of all submitted content, including material prepared with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools. AI-generated or AI-assisted content must not be used to disguise plagiarism or fabricate references, data, or scholarly evidence.
Research Integrity
Suspected plagiarism and related publication-integrity concerns will be handled objectively and confidentially. Authors may be asked to provide explanations, original sources, data, or other documentation necessary for evaluating a concern.
